An 11-year-old boy was set ablaze in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, Ghana, for peeping at a lady having her bath at her residence.
The boy identified as Maxwell Ayinbisa, was reportedly caught by one Nsobila John, who doused him with petrol and set fire on him on 24 November 2017, shortly after he was sent to buy petrol from a filling station with his two friends.
It was gathered that lady who was bathing drew the attention of man nearby, about the boys peeping her while she was bathing. However while his friends, the 11-year-old boy was caught and set ablaze for peeping at the lady having her bath despite his pleas. Passersby who heard about the incident then accosted the man, and threatened to do the same to him if he refused to take the boy to the hospital.
Two years after, the boy’s head, chest and both hands is still bandaged and Class News reported that an offensive odour emanates from the wounds with whitish substance dripping from the wounds on his head. It was further learnt that the families of the burn victim and the suspect later reached an agreement to settle the matter out of court. This came after Nsobila John who took care of the initial treatment of the boy, abandoned him.
